About

Greeting

Nakamura Inc. was established in July 1981 as a company mainly engaged in the recycling of waste paper. At that time, words such as “global environmental protection,” “sustainable growth,” and “reuse,” which have become widely known today, had not yet became unfamiliar to the public, but we followed the spirit of “mottainai*” that we had cultivated since childhood and started a business that would play a central role in the recycling of waste paper.

After that, when we visited our customers‘ offices to collect waste paper, we began to receive various consultations regarding the disposal of not only waste paper but also other waste materials. In response to such customer requests, we have expanded our business to include the collection, transportation and intermediate disposal of industrial waste, the wholesale of iron/non-ferrous scrap, and the purchase and sale of used office furniture. As a result, our business has expanded, but our spirit of “mottainai” have not been changed, and our goal is to continue to be a company that can help our customers by recycling and reusing as much as possible of their waste materials.
* “Mottainai” means to have respect for the resources around you, to not waste resources, and to use them with a sense of gratitude.

Currently, the three businesses mentioned above are being developed at four bases.

Workshop for children

We hold workshops for children on the theme of “garbage” and “resources”.

From “Useful products” to “Garbage “

In our daily lives, we produce garbage as unnecessary products.
In response to the ever-increasing amount of garbage, various measures against waste reduction have been taken in recent years, such as reducing the use of plastic bags and promoting the use of household food waste disposer.

However, the problems related to garbage are becoming more serious every year, such as the increase in garbage and the accompanying rise in disposal costs. In the society of mass production and mass consumption, we are being strongly challenged to take care of things both at work and at home.

We believe that the garbage problem is unavoidable for children living in modern society, and that it is an issue we must work to improve.

“We want to suggest that we look at the environment by experiencing our workshop.”

We have planned the workshop for children to use the garbage (industrial waste) collected by our company as “materials”. The aim of this workshop is to make the issue of garbage more familiar to children and to create an opportunity for them to develop an interest in garbage. In addition, from the perspective of the “3Rs” (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), we will propose activities that will help children think about ways to reduce waste in their own lives.

Workshops for the future presented by Nakamura

In order to improve the current garbage problem, it is important for each of us to think about what we need to do and be willing to do what we can. Nakamura Inc. hopes that the participants will not only have a good time at the workshop, but also become aware that disused products are not trash, and they will get a chance to think what they can do to help.

We need a variety of “products” in our lives. We believe that the first step in thinking about the environment, as well as the problem of garbage, is for each of us to re-consider the end of ” products ” that will surely come.

If you are interested in the activities of Nakamura Inc., please feel free to contact us.
